Intel Plan sub-$300 laptop

Intel is planning to launch an entry level notebook PC with a price tag of below $300.

Though there have been many attempt at breaking the price barrier in the PC industry, the resultant machine has not been a fully functional device. Intel is looking at launching such notebook PC’s called “Netbook” powered by the atom range of processor.

Intel’s general manager (mobile platforms) Shmuel Eden said that the marketing opportunity for such kinds of notebooks are increasing and immense in both the developed and emerging markets. Intel would not be targetting the Netbook as just an affordable machine but as a fully functional PC for all sections of the society.
