Texas Instruments has introduced the next generation of ultra low power microcontrollers that can aid thousands of applications in fields such as medical,security, consumer goods and home automation. According to the company, the microcontrollers offer 50 percent more processing performance and 100 percent improvement in memory than previoys generation. These will particularly help in development of portable devices across industry segments and enhance the performance of devices like panel metres, 3-phase metres, UPS and inverters, LED lghting, portable ultra sound scanners, electronic thermometers, wind and solar power generators, surveillance equipment in public buildings, electronic baggage scanners and radio frequency identification devices.
